Steven R. Penrod

Vice President, United States Enrichment Corporation &
General Manager, Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant

Steven R. Penrod is vice president of the United States Enrichment Corporation and is the general manager of USEC’s Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant. He reports to Robert Van Namen, senior vice president, uranium enrichment, at USEC Inc.

Mr. Penrod joined the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant in 1979 as a design engineer. He went on to serve in several supervisory and management positions in the Operations and Health and Safety divisions. He was later promoted to operations manager and then plant manager. He assumed the position of general manager in 2005.

Mr. Penrod is a board member at the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Paducah Economic Development Council.

Mr. Penrod graduated from Shawnee College with Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees and then attended Southern Illinois University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

USEC Inc.’s subsidiary, the United States Enrichment Corporation, operates a gaseous diffusion plant in Paducah, Kentucky and does contract work for the U.S. Department of Energy in Piketon, Ohio.
