E. John Neumann is vice president of government relations for USEC Inc. He is responsible for the Company’s day-to-day interactions with Congress and other policy makers and directs USEC's overall legislative efforts.
Mr. Neumann joined USEC from the Edison Electric Institute, where he served nine years as vice president of government relations and was instrumental in enhancing the effectiveness and visibility of the shareholder-owned electric utility industry on Capitol Hill.
He formerly served as director of government affairs for the Southern Company in their Washington, D.C. office. Prior to that, he served as director of federal affairs for Baltimore Gas and Electric Company, now known as Constellation Energy. Before that, he served in a number of legislative liaison roles with the ranking member of the House Small Business Committee, the late Silvio Conte (R-MA); the U.S. Small Business Administration under President Ford; the American Gas Association; and the U.S. Senate Republican Policy Committee’s chairman, the late Senator Gordon Allott (R-CO).
Mr. Neumann serves on the board of directors for CrisisLink, a greater Washington area non-profit organization.
Mr. Neumann holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Colorado and has done graduate studies at the American University Graduate School of Government and Public Administration.
