USEC performs contract work for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and its contractors at the Paducah and Piketon plant sites, including:

• Maintaining the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in a state of readiness or “cold standby” and now transitioning the facility to “cold shutdown” to prepare for its eventual decontamination and decommissioning
• Processing out-of-specification uranium for DOE
• Providing infrastructure support services

At the Piketon site, USEC Government Services has completed all its DOE contract work to date on time and on or under budget.
