Steven R. Penrod is vice president, enrichment operations for USEC Inc. He reports to Robert Van Namen, senior vice president and chief operating officer.
Mr. Penrod joined the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant in 1979 as a design engineer. He went on to serve in several supervisory and management positions in the Operations and Health and Safety divisions. He was later promoted to operations manager and then plant manager. He assumed the position of general manager in 2005. USEC appointed him head of enrichment operations for the company in 2011.
Mr. Penrod is a board member at the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Paducah Economic Development Council.
Mr. Penrod graduated from Shawnee College with Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees and then attended Southern Illinois University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
