PIKETON, Ohio - The United States Enrichment Corporation is pleased to announce organizational changes at its Piketon plant.
Lee Lawson has been named Manager of GCEP Cleanup. In this capacity, Lawson will oversee the on-time, on-budget removal and dismantlement of components currently located in the original Gas Centrifuge Enrichment Plant (GCEP). The original GCEP facilities will be utilized by USEC for the deployment of the American Centrifuge.
“GCEP Cleanup is an important project for USEC and I feel Lee has the ideal mix of management and technical skills to accomplish these critical goals,” said Larry Cutlip, USEC’s Manager of Project Development and Implementation.
Lawson has 29 years of experience at the Piketon plant during which he has served as the Records Management Document Control Group Manager and most recently Manager of Information Technology. Lawson attended Rio Grande College and Ohio University. He and his wife Diana reside in Otway and have three sons, Matthew, Nathan and Noah, and four grandchildren.
Filling the vacated position of Manager of Information Technology (IT) is Alene Fisher. She will be responsible for managing the site IT staff and infrastructure for delivering high quality solutions to address the plant’s information needs.
Fisher will report to David Vordick, USEC’s Corporate IT Director. “I am confident that Alene’s extensive experience in the field of Information Technology will be a benefit to the entire population of computer users and systems at the plant,” said Vordick.
Fisher has more than 29 years of IT experience at the plant. For the past 10 years, she has held the position of Group Manager of Business Systems. Fisher graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. She and her husband Steve reside in Waverly.
