USEC Employee Wins Company President's Award

PIKETON, Ohio - USEC employee Reed Hauser, who works at the Piketon plant, was a recent recipient of USEC’s E-III President’s Award. USEC President and CEO William H. Timbers presented the award to Hauser and his fellow team members, Ed Jamison and Dean Terry, both employees at USEC’s Paducah plant.

The team was recognized for identifying and obtaining valuable spare equipment from a British Nuclear Fuels Ltd. building in Oak Ridge, Tenn., that is undergoing decontamination and decommissioning. The equipment has had a significant impact on keeping production equipment online at the Paducah plant. This equipment was obtained at minimal cost compared to the cost of new replacements, saving the Company an estimated $27 million on equipment alone. The team was nominated by Jim Vogelsang, Manager, Procurement and Materials.

E-III stands for “Employee Excellence and Entrepreneurship.” The USEC President’s Award is given quarterly to employees who show extraordinary performance that results in the significant advancement of a Company goal or a major work process. The President’s Award, together with USEC’s annual Chairman’s Award, is designed to highlight key Company values and recognize those individuals who play important roles in USEC’s success.
