PADUCAH, Ky. – Jim Lewis has been promoted to Plant Manager at the United States Enrichment Corporation’s plant in Paducah, Kentucky. In his new role, Lewis will have oversight of the plant’s production activities, including operations, maintenance, work control, production support and product scheduling. He reports to General Manager Steve Penrod.
Lewis succeeds Mark Keef, who transferred to USEC’s American Centrifuge Program.
Lewis previously served as Paducah’s Maintenance Manager, a post he assumed in 2005. Previous assignments include a manager’s role in the plant’s Nuclear Criticality Safety Group, Site and Facilities Support manager, Utilities Operations manager, and Plant Shift Superintendent, among others. He has worked at the plant since 1987 and worked for three years prior to that at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
Lewis earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in metallurgical engineering from the University of Kentucky.
He and his wife, Debbie, have six children: Ben, John, Sarah, Leah, Matthew and Anna.
