PADUCAH, Ky. - Three members of the Security staff at USEC’s Paducah plant were recently certified as firearms instructors by the U.S. Department of Energy.
Paducah Protective Force Commander Lawrence Ragsdale, Security Analyst Gary Roberts and Security Analyst John Driskill earned their certification during a two-week Instructor Certification Class hosted by USEC at the Company’s Piketon, Ohio, facility. The comprehensive training included both classroom instruction and firing range proficiency. All three officers scored 90% or better on the qualification shooting.
The certification authorizes these officers to conduct firearms qualifications and instruct firearms proficiency as required by the DOE.
Representatives from the Department of Energy National Training Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, conducted the course. Two officers from USEC’s Piketon Protective Force were also certified.
The United States Enrichment Corporation is a subsidiary of USEC Inc. (NYSE: USU), a global energy company that is a leading supplier of enriched uranium fuel for commercial nuclear power plants.
