USEC Inc. Names David Willis Security Manager

PIKETON, Ohio - USEC Inc. has named David Willis, Sr. as Security Manager, for the American Centrifuge Plant in Piketon. He will manage the Security Group in the Plant Services Organization.

Willis brings more than 18 years of security experience with the Department of Energy and 21 years with the Department of Defense to his new position. Most recently, he served as the Strategic Suppliers Security Manager with USEC Inc. in Oak Ridge, Tenn. He formerly worked as a Security Program Manager for the Wackenhut Oak Ridge Team, and he has also held various security-related positions with Lockheed Martin Energy Systems and its predecessor, Martin Marietta Energy Systems.

Willis is a graduate of the U.S. Army Officer’s Combined Arms Staff Officer’s School and retired at the rank of Major in the Tennessee Army National Guard. While deployed to Iraq, he served as Chief of Operations for the 278th Regimental Combat Team, and he has held several other key leadership positions within the National Guard.

He also has a bachelor of science degree in organizational management from Tusculum College in Greenville, Tenn.

Willis and his wife, Lynn, will be relocating to southern Ohio from the Knoxville, Tenn. area. They have two children: David Jr. and Solomon.

USEC Inc., a global energy company, is a leading supplier of enriched uranium fuel for commercial nuclear power plants. It expects to deploy the next generation uranium enrichment technology in Piketon, Ohio – the American Centrifuge.  The United States Enrichment Corporation, a subsidiary of USEC Inc., operates a uranium enrichment plant in Paducah, Kentucky, and does contract work for the U.S. Department of Energy in Piketon.
