PIKETON, Ohio – Gary Workman has joined USEC Inc. as Plant Services Manager for the American Centrifuge Plant in Piketon, Ohio. In this capacity, Workman oversees Security, Information Technology, Fire Protection, Emergency Management and Facility Services.
Workman first came to the Piketon Plant as a Systems Programmer in 1983. In 1990, he became a Department Head in Computing Systems. In 1994, he transferred to the Laboratory as a Section Manager and later served as a Group Manager. He then served for two years as the Feed and Transfer Operations Manager. In 2001, he was named Production Support Manager. Since January 2006, he has served as Manager of the Regulatory Affairs organization for the United States Enrichment Corporation, a subsidiary of USEC Inc.
Workman holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and electrical engineering from Wright State University, and he has completed graduate studies in Engineering Management at Ohio University.
Workman and his wife Julie reside in Peebles. They have two children, Jessica and Nick.
USEC Inc., a global energy company, is a leading supplier of enriched uranium fuel for commercial nuclear power plants. It expects to deploy the next generation uranium enrichment technology in Piketon, Ohio – the American Centrifuge. The United States Enrichment Corporation, a subsidiary of USEC Inc., operates a uranium enrichment plant in Paducah, Kentucky, and does contract work for the U.S. Department of Energy in Piketon.
