USEC Inc. Names Joe Deffenbaugh
Manager, Lead Cascade Operations and Maintenance for American Centrifuge

PIKETON, Ohio - USEC Inc. has named Joe Deffenbaugh as Manager, Lead Cascade Operations and Maintenance, for the American Centrifuge Plant in Piketon. Deffenbaugh will report to John Oppy, Lead Cascade Demonstration Manager.

Deffenbaugh brings to the position more than 22 years of operating experience at the gaseous diffusion plant at Piketon having been a Cascade Production Process Operator, a Cascade First Line Manager, a Cascade Section Manager and a Cascade Controller. He also worked as a supervisor in the former Centrifuge program, and he has served in various other management positions for private industry.

Deffenbaugh has both an Associate of Science degree and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management from Ohio University.

“Joe’s knowledge and experience in operations, as well as his experience with previous centrifuge activities at the Piketon site, will be great assets to the program as we work to deploy the American Centrifuge,” said Oppy.

Deffenbaugh and his wife, Kay, live in Chillicothe. They have two grown children and three grandchildren.
