PIKETON, Ohio - USEC Inc. has named Rod Kroll as Manager of Training and Procedures for the American Centrifuge Demonstration Facility at the Piketon Plant. Kroll reports to John Oppy, Lead Cascade Demonstration Manager.
Kroll has more than 30 years of experience in nuclear plant operations, support, and regulatory interface, including 25 years in training and procedures management and operations supervision. For the past 10 years, he has served under contract to develop and implement required technical training programs for the nuclear industry.
Kroll joined USEC Inc. at Piketon in November 2004 as a Senior Instructional Technologist and was appointed as Acting Training and Procedures Manager in June 2005. He previously served with MDM Services Corporation to assist in the design and development of employee orientation and qualification training programs when the Lead Cascade Project began in early 2004.
Kroll was honorably discharged at the rank of Master Chief Machinist’s Mate (Submarines) following 22 years of service in the United States Naval Nuclear Power Program. During his tenure, he received three Navy Commendation Medals and two Navy Achievement Medals.

Kroll and his wife, Sylvia, live near Piketon. They have one son, Jason, who lives in Chillicothe.
