Timothy Hansen to Leave USEC Inc.

BETHESDA, Md. - USEC Inc. (NYSE: USU) announced today that Timothy B. Hansen, senior vice president, general counsel and secretary, will leave the Company to pursue a career in public prosecution.

Hansen joined USEC in 1994 and played a key role in its privatization from the federal government, culminating in the Company’s initial public offering in 1998. “Tim has made many significant contributions to USEC’s success in his more than 10 years with the Company,” said USEC President and Chief Executive Officer William H. Timbers. “His leadership in the area of corporate governance has helped to make USEC a model recognized for many best practices in the governance arena. We wish him well.”

Hansen will leave USEC at the end of November, and James A. Schoettler, Jr., assistant general counsel, has been appointed acting general counsel while the Company conducts an external search for a successor.
