Hansen joined USEC in 1994 as Assistant General Counsel. In this position, he managed many of the legal aspects of USEC’s privatization, including the development of legislation and preparation for the Company’s initial public offering. Following the privatization in 1998, he established the corporate secretary function for the newly public company, and has counseled on corporate finance and securities matters. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Secretary.

Prior to joining USEC, Hansen practiced law at Shearman & Sterling in the firm’s San Francisco and Washington, DC offices, where he concentrated on corporate finance and commercial transactions. Hansen earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard College and a law degree from the University of Virginia.

“Tim has contributed much to USEC’s success over the past eight years,” said USEC President and CEO William H. Timbers. “As a member of the senior management team, he will play a key role as the Company moves to grow and diversify its business.”

Hansen succeeds Robert J. Moore, who will be practicing law after concluding his work at USEC. “Bob’s counsel and leadership have been integral to USEC’s success,” Timbers said. “We have benefited from his professionalism, integrity and legal skills during his almost 10 years with the Company.”

Moore said, “I’ve been fortunate for the opportunity to help build this vital company and to have worked with so many talented and dedicated people at headquarters and at our facilities in Kentucky and Ohio.”
