BETHESDA, Md. - USEC Inc. (NYSE: USU) announced that Dennis Blair, formerly an executive with GTE, has joined the company as Vice President, Human Resources and Administration.

Before joining USEC, Mr. Blair spent 18 years at GTE and its subsidiary companies as a human resources executive and manager. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Human Resources for GTE Technology & Systems in Needham, Massachusetts.

In announcing Mr. Blair’s appointment, Henry Z Shelton, USEC’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer said, "We are fortunate to have Dennis with us. His many years of human resources experience in the global technology arena make him an ideal fit for USEC."

Before joining, GTE Technology & Systems, Mr. Blair was Vice President, Human Resources for Airfone, a GTE subsidiary in Oak Brook, Illinois. Prior to that, he was State Vice President and General Manager for GTE North’s Wisconsin Operations in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. In 1998, he was honored by Workforce magazine as one of "HR’s Leading Workforce Directors."

Mr. Blair holds a B.S. in psychology and an M.B.A. with a concentration in personnel, both from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He attended the Executive Development Program at the University of California, Los Angeles. In addition, he is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board for the University of Wisconsin School of Business.
